The Return is one of those stories that can take you away on a wave of fantasy with very little effort. From the opening scene that has Tristian rising and breaking camp, you’ll be hooked. This story has a fabulous cast of characters, there are mages that wield awesome power, warriors of great skill and a threat that looms over the lands of Riger that could enslave the entire population. And although Tristian and Sidell’s love isn’t the main focus of the story, it is still very present, and tangible. There are moments of tenderness and devotion that are palpable, and those are the moments I looked forward to. The Return is Tas’ only offering to the Xenaverse, but it’s a good one.
